Recreation and facilities on the ranch include swimming (four pools), tennis, volley ball, basketball, horseback trail rides (in summer), golf (two 18-hole courses), and miles of paved paths for bike riding and walking. The Glaze Meadow Recreation Center has both outdoor and indoors swimming pools In our outside storage shed we have five "moderate" condition bikes available for your use. The Ranch also rents new mountain bikes and bike trailers for small children. There are three restaurants: The Lodge for fine dining, short orders at the Lake Side Bistro, and casual dinning at Robert's Pub. There are also a small general store (which rents videos) and a sportswear/gift shop. There is "recreation barn" where activities are scheduled for children of all ages up through teens; a fee is charged for some of the activities. Contact the Ranch for information about other activities and golf; printed activity schedules and brochures are also available at the Lodge.
The rental rate for our cabin is $185 per night during the low season (September through June) and $205 per night during the high season (July and August). We also charge a one-time $130 cleaning fee. Taxes include the Oregon Transient Lodging 1.8% Tax plus the Deschutes County 8% tax on room and cleaning. See Rate Table for total charges. Because we rent directly to you we are able to keep rates low. Please compare our rates with what is charged for BBR-managed Aspen Houses. We have a two-night minimum (three-night minimum on holidays) from September through June and a one-week minimum during July and August. All July and August weeks are Sunday to Sunday to prevent overlap and to accomodate our housekeeper. Check-in time is after 4:00 pm and check-out by noon. Black Butte Ranch charges a $8 per person (over the age of 7) per day "Access and Recreation Fee", which is payable directly to the Ranch when you check in. Because of the access fee there are no separate charges to use any of the recreation facilities (including swimming pools and tennis courts) except for golf and horseback riding. There also is a modest fee for some of the supervised activities for kids at the Recreation Center.
When you make a reservation, we ask for one night deposit for weekends and two nights for a week. For questions or reservations call or e-mail us (see bottom of this page). When we receive your deposit we will send you a written confirmation plus additional information about our cabin. The balance of your rental will be due at least two weeks before check-in, at which time we will provide you with a key, care information about the cabin, and access information.
Cancellation policy. Because, of course, we turn away potential guests after a reservation has been made, deposits will not be refunded (unless we can re-rent) if cancellations are not made more than 4 weeks in advance of July, August, or holiday reservations or within 2 weeks in advance of other reservations.

No smoking or pets are permitted. There are kennels available in Sisters (7 miles east) if you are traveling with pets.
